There are two pretty awesome new patterns in the shop: Marlene and Miss Marlene von fritzi and schnittreif. These girl and woman patterns are for tees with a fun twist. The neckline is straight and two shoulder insets allow for a fun play with texture and/or color. The patterns include different sleeve lengths. Both shirts are a quick and easy sew suitable for beginner sewers that want to conquer sewing with knit.
For my daughter’s shirt I decided to mix several stripes from my stash. I love the look of different stripes together (like in the Boden catalogue) and I had some striped fabrics at hand that screamed spring to me. Both my daughter and I love how her Marlene turned out. Pretty joyful, right? I totally want one for myself now. Luckily, I have quite a bunch of striped fabrics in my stash. Stripes rule ;)
More examples
Let me show you some more examples. My test sewers also were quite busy sewing up the Marlene and Miss Marlene and made some gorgeous tees. I’ll show just some pics now and then give another run down of the other examples next week. Or follow along on facebook. I’ll make sure to share some examples there, too.
My friend Courtney from Sweeter than Cupcakes sewed two beautiful shirts for her even more beautiful daughters.
Miranda from Inspinration sewed for her daughter and herself. Don’t they look cute together.
Sew Marie Fleur never ceases to amaze me. Doesn’t that lace inset look stunning?
Jane from Buzzmills looks so good in her simple, yet beautiful Miss Marlene shirt.
I always love blue and white together and Sabra from sew a straight line just looks sooo good in her new shirt.
