Hi everyone and happy new year!
I hope you’re some amazing first days of 2017. We’re enjoying christmas break with a lot of family time. Climbing, skiing, crafting, playing board games, … You name it, we’ve done it!
However, this is not a post about the new year and/or review of 2016 (which I hope to still do), but this is about my #signatureelse. Else with it’s many different variations never dissappoints. Yes, it’s normally a dress pattern, but simply by shortening it, it becomes the best of all top patterns, too. And the hoodie is my fav version.
Monika from schneidernmeistern announced a little contest for the signature style Else last fall. I didn’t have time to sew along back then, but got some nice yellow organic sweatshirt fabric from lillestoff that I knew would work perfectly with some dark blue contrasts. Because yellow and blue always do, right? It took me a long time to finish this hoodie. Other projects and work kept getting in the way, but shortly before christmas I finally finished it.
Since then I have been wearing this hoodie many more days than I care to confess. When my husband saw me wearing that for the first time, he was stunned: “This looks so good. It’s 100% you!” Well, I guess, one could say that I nailed the #signatureElse.
Definitely a project that is for a true #Elsenschwester (Else sister). I got that silver iron on label from Monika and together with some blue leather it’s a nice little detail on the back of the hoodie.
We took these pics one week ago at a little lake. In the sun it wasn’t too cold, but the lake was almost frozen and the kids loved playing with the ice that they could reach from the side. Now it has cooled down even more and snowed a lot. We’re expecting -4°F (-20°C) on Friday. I’d say it’s #elsetimeoftheyear.
