Näh-Connection in London : Susanne Cardigan von Compagnie M. und Union St. Tee von Hey June

Just a quick Hello! After a super exciting weekend in London where I met many wonderful sewing bloggers from all over Europe, I’m busy at work. I have so many patterns to translate, accounting to do and lots of sewing ahead of me. Nonetheless I wanted to share these pics with you. This was my first time in London and I had the other girls take some pics of my new garments.

As you can see we had the best weather ever. Which means way too harsh sunlight for taking pics. I did my best to photoshop them, but it’s still not the best pics. Well, I’m not certainly not going to complain about to good weather! It only rained when we arrived and then was perfect the rest of the weekend. It was a bit windy and chilly, but I still managed to get a little sunburned!

Shortly before the trip I quickly sewed up this outfit. I got the fabrics from NOSH and they are dreamy as ever. I had seen the dots on other blogs before and just had to have them. I made a simply Union St. Tee by Hey June. The fit is great, just the neckline gapes a little bit. I already seamripped and re-did the neckband, but it’s still to wide. I think the problem is the width of the neckband. The pattern includes two widths and maybe the wider one works only with ribbing.

I also sewed a Susanne Cardigan by Compagnie M. When Marte released the pattern, I just knew that I wanted one of these. I normally don’t wear cardigans, but this one is too cool. I really like the pockets. I chose to go with the simplest version where the outside of the pockets shows the wrong side of the fabric. I like the texture of the loopback sweatshirting.  It’s probably not supposed to be on the outside, but sometimes one needs to be a #sewingrebel … I finished the neckline with bias tape that I sewed on with the machine. Marte suggests to sew it by hand, but I didn’t have the time nor the patience to do so. It turned out great, though. Next time I’ll go one or two sizes up around the waist/hips. The cardigan sits perfectly at the top, but could be a little bit wider around my bottom. Well, it’s worn open anywas, so I’m fine with it as is, too.
