I told you some weeks ago about that very exciting email that I got some weeks ago. Today I can finally tell you what it was about: I’m competing in season 11 of Project and Play. I can’t even tell you how excited I am. Project Run and Play was one of the first sewing blogs that I ever discovered and it’s probably the reason why I ever started to sew. I could hardly believe that „normal“ people could sew such amazing clothes for their kids. And now I get to be part of it! Wowza, it still feels totally unreal.
Season 11 of PR&P will start on Februrary 1st. We got the themes two weeks ago and since then I’ve been sewing up a storm. My first week look for „Everything knit“ is done. As you know I’m a big knit-lover, so that theme is just perfect for me and I had so much fun putting it together. I hope you all’ll like it. Tonight I’ll start my week 2 look, for which we have to sew something cosplay inspired. That theme had me really stumped at first. I even had to google cosplay to make sure that I understand it right (cosplay really is a niche in Germany). Even then I was quite unsure how to interpret cosplay inspired. And I wasn’t the only one. There were quite some emails back and forth between the contestants. In the end I decided to just base my look on a favorite fictional character. But even choosing that character was really hard. There are so many amazing characters, but I wanted one that also my kids know and that I really like, too. In the end I found a pretty perfect one and now pray that the outfit turns out as planned and that I get to take the pictures in the way that I want to.
I’m not quite sure what I’ll do for week 3 (All that glitters) and week 4 (signature style). So many ideas to choose from.
Anyways, I hope you’ll like my makes and cheer me on with your comments, messages and votes while the contest is running. Until the start of the contest I’ll proabably not blog too often as I’m spending most of my free time pattern hacking, cutting, sewing and photographing, but I’m sure that it’s absolutely worth it! To a super amazing February!
