Yes, you read that right! Today, for Sew Mama Sew’s giveaway day (check out all the other giveaways, too!), I have a giveaway for you offering sewing patterns worth more than $180!

Ja richtig gelesen! Heute, zu Sew Mama Sews Gewinnspieltag (schaut euch auch die vielen anderen Gewinnspiele für Schnittmuster, Stoffe etc. an) könnt ihr bei mir Schnittmuster im Wert von mehr als $180, d.h. mehr als 170€ gewinnen.

So, how come? Well, you all know that I love me some nice pattern bundles. I don’t just buy them because of the hype, but often they contain some patterns that I want anyways. However, there are also always patterns in those bundles that may not be exactly my style. I prefer rather simple silhouettes for both me and my kids. I’m just not so much a ruffle-y or bow-y person. Other patterns don’t include my size or I have very similar patterns already printed out and taped that I used again and again. Or they aren’t suitable for a mom with little kids (a maxi dress without straps? I’d be naked within a short time because of my son pulling at the fabric…) And last, but not least: I’m just not a quilter! I would love to sew some quilts, but I just don’t have the time to learn it and I feel that I’m not patient enough to make quilts that I would actually like!

Und warum das ganze? Naja, ihr wisst ja, dass ich gern mal ein Schnittpaket kaufe. Und zwar wirklich nicht nur wegen dem Hype darum, aber die enthalten eben oft Schnitte, die ich eh möchte. Meist sind jedoch auch Schnitte dabei, die nicht meinem Stil (relativ schlichte Schnitte) entsprechen. Ich steh nun mal nicht so auf Rüschen, Schleifen etc. Andere Schnitte enthalten nicht die passende Größe oder ich hab schon sehr ähnliche Schnitte, die ich bereits ausgedruckt und zusammengeklebt hab und gewohnt bin zu nutzen. Oder die Schnitte sind nicht passend für eine Mama mit kleinen Kindern (ein Maxi-Kleid ohne Träger? Da wär ich nach kürzester Zeit nackt, weil mein Sohn am Stoff zieht…) Und zu guter Letzt: Ich bin einfach keine Quilterin. Ich würd ja gern Quilts nähen, aber mir fehlt einfach die Zeit dazu. Außerdem glaub ich nicht, dass ich geduldig genug bin um einen Quilt zu nähen, der mir wirklich gut gefallen würde!

Thus I’ve decided to make this huge giveaway that will hopefully make one of you very happy instead of them being lost on my computer. All of the patterns are pdf-patterns with step by step instructions (with photos or illustrations). Altogether the giveaway includes 22 patterns: 7 for kids, 7 for quilting and embroidery and 8 for women.

Deshalb hab ich mich entschieden dieses Gewinnspiel zu machen, dass hoffentlich eine von euch sehr glücklich macht. Alle Schnitte sind englische e-books mit Schritt-für-Schritt Anleitungen (mit Fotos oder Illustrationen). Falls ihr euch bisher nicht an englische Schnitte getraut habt, ist so ein Gewinnspiel ideal. Da kann man das gut mal ausprobieren. Insgesamt hab ich 22 Schnitte für euch: 7 für Kinder, 7 für Quilts und Stickvorlagen und 8 für Frauen.

Last, but not least I want to mention one thing. I’m not going to share these patterns with you. I’m friends with many pdf pattern designers and definitely respect the hard work of all designers out there. I totally think that it’s not okay to share the patterns with anyone. At the moment I have all the patterns zipped in one folder on my computer (without another copy!) and I will delete the whole folder just seconds after I’ve sent them to the lucky winner. I also don’t have any of the patterns printed!

Abschließend möchte ich noch eine Sache erwähnen. Ich werde diese Schnitte nicht mit euch teilen. Ich kenne viele Pdf-Designer und respektiere die vielen Stunden Arbeit, die sie in jeden Schnitt stecken. Das Teilen von Dateien find ich absolut nicht in Ordnung. Ich hab deshalb die Datein zusammen in einen zip-Ordner gepackt (ohne eine weitere Kopie davon!) und werde diesen Ordner nur wenige Sekunden nachdem ich ihn zum Gewinner geschickt habe, löschen. Ich habe auch keinen der Schnitte ausgedruckt!
