The Twist (it) blouse uses a single pattern piece. The one pattern piece used for the entire blouse can be rotated to have the grainline on the straightgrain or on the bias (45°) creating a chevron effect on the center front or back seamline, depending on how you ‘twist (it)’. Even though the pattern was designed for woven fabrics, you can also sew a very comfortable Shirt, lengthening the sleeves with ribbing, so it will also be wearable through autumn and winter.
This pattern was originally published in German at schneidernmeistern and has been translated to English by me in collaboration with the designer, Monika Schmidt-Mader. All measurements are in cm or inches / yards.
Sizes included are S – M – L. These are corresponding with european sizes 36/38 – 40/42 – 44/46. A size chart in cm and inches is included in the pattern.
Lightweight woven fabrics like cotton or cotton blends with a nice drape, e.g. cotton satin, high quality viscose, batiste, voile, double gauze.
The pattern is available in pdf format. You need Adobe Reader to open it. This program can be downloaded here.
The pattern includes a step-by-step instruction with photographs, recommendations on fabric and notions, fabric requirements, a size chart, sewing tips, instructions on printing and of course the pattern itself. The pdf includes 34 pages (15 pages manual, 19 pages pattern sheet).
