Some ideas just need to be worked on right away. This tank top (Twisted Tank) is one of these projects. I love my kids in pink. Light colors often make them look too pale, but pink just pops. And I love pink on my son, too. It just has to be used the right way. It needs a fun pattern (and it doesn’t get much more fun than the Twised Tank) and a cool print. I love these big monstera leaves that I screenprinted. I even have a free cut file for you at the bottom of the post.
I had less than half a meter left of this pink jersey. Just perfect for a tank top for my son. So I sat down in front of my computer to draw some monstera leaves on Illustrator. I then used my Silhouette to cut these from the special stenicl paper from bobbinhood and screenprinted it using the Seasy kit (also from bobbinhood). I decided to print a totally irregular pattern. This time everything worked perfectly and the print turned out really sharp. I just love the result. I sewed the twisted tank the same evening and have been enjoying it on my son ever since.
Free cut file: Monstera Leave for Silhouette and PDF file
Wanna play around with these leaves, too? I uploaded two files with monstera leaves for you. If you have a silhouette yourself, I suggest to use the dxf file right away. Use it to cut a stencil or to cut iron-on vinyl right away. Otherwise you can use the normal pdf and print the leave. Then just use your exacto knife and/or scissors.
Please remember that these files are only for personal use. Please link to this blog post when you show something that you’ve made with them on social media or your blog. This way other’s will find the file, too!
