Finally. Finally I sewed that Lisbon Cardigan that has been lying all cut in my office since August. I had prepared it for the release of the german version in my shop, but didn’t finish in time. Afterwards I had other, more pressing projects and kept shifting this to the end of my sewing list. Luckily some weeks ago I got an email from my friend Fleurine who invited me to the Itch to Stitch Holiday Blog Tour. During this tour various Itch to Stitch patterns are used to sew some holiday wear. I decided to finally finish my Lisbon. It’s obviously not a chic outfit for christmas eve. Instead it’s something cozy to cuddle up between Christmas and New Year while reading a nice book on the sofa and relaxing. Can’t wait!
I used a very soft interlock and the cardigan is super cozy. The colors aren’t exactly “ME”, but I like it with a pop of color. Instead of normal buttons, I used snaps. They just work better with the more relaxed and laid back version of the Lisbon Cardigan that I sewed.
I’m already looking forward to my next Lisbons. Can’t wait to sew a more structured and chic one out of a nice jacquard or a nice dark blue one. Maybe with a yellow buttons? Well, the right fabric will find me. That’s for sure!
Please check out the other girls on the Itch to Stitch Holiday Blog Tour. They sewed some seriously cute and beautiful outfits. And if you can’t wait to sew your own versions afterwards, use code “holiday 16” to get 16% off all Itch to Stitch Patterns.
Anyone who can apply those metal snaps is at the top of my amazing list!! I have NEVER been able to get them to work.
I love the color of your fabric. I am all over browns and creams… I am all about the earth tones.
:D Actually it’s not difficult at all to apply the snaps. You just need the right tool. Says the woman who applied the first snap in the wrong order and had to fight to get it off again…
I love your Lisbon cardigan, you did a beautiful job matching those stripes! I have been wanting to make one for quite some time and after seeing yours I really have to!
I LOVE how cozy and comfortable your Lisbon looks! This is the perfect cardigan for cuddling up near a fire and reading (which is how I prefer to spend the holidays). And I too am impressed with your snaps.
