I’m so happy to join Heidi today for her Mori Blog Tour. I’m a super big admirer of her style and patterns. I’ve been following her blog for years and sewn almost all her patterns. Her new Mori Dress & Top is again very special. The big “wings” as my daughter calls them make the dress an outstanding piece that calls for compliments wherever you go.
I decided to leave of the ties as my daughter isn’t the biggest fan of them. Plus, I really like the loose and comfortable summery shape that the dress has without the ties. I chose a light airy voile, which gives it the perfect movement. The design is “Rich Meadow Ivory” Voile von Elizabeth Olwen für Cloud 9 which I got in the german online shop Eulenmeisterei. It’s really just perfect for the dress. In fact I couldn’t really imagine the dress in heavier, stiffer fabrics. This is one of the cases where you actually HAVE to go with the recommended fabrics (linen, voile, double gauze, etc.) to get the right look. Not the right time to be a #sewingrebel.
I’m so in love with this dress. Heidi was inspired by the japanese mori kei and she definitely nailed it with this loose, airy design. My daughter feels like a fairy in it. Can you imagine walking through the forest or through a meadow with morning dew while wearing that dress? The dream of every little girl, right?
